Commercial Property Accounting

  • Review commercial property invoices for appropriate coding and processing payment.
  • Process late fees, interest charges, billing adjustments and other charges as directed by Asset Management.
  • Prepare and enter commercial property related journal entries to accurately account for all costs.
  • Bill back tenants for services and utility expenses.
  • Manage the monthly rent invoice processing and receipts.
  • Monitor tenant AR details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities, and assist Asset Management in identifying collection issues.
  • Track assigned commercial property budgets and lead monthly budget meetings to identify and discuss any cost/budget issues.
  • Review and ensure property expenses are properly recorded in a timely manner.
  • Prepare year-end work papers for commercial properties to facilitate the tax return preparation.
  • Reconcile commercial property budget and final cost reports and prepare yearly close-out.
  • Reconcile commercial bank accounts monthly.
  • Ensure leases are abstracted accurately and entered in NetSuite in a timely manner.
  • Prepare the CAM Reconciliations for Controller and AM to review.
  • Maintain internal controls, monitor controls at the property level, and make recommendations for improvements when necessary.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
