We’re Hiring: Project Manager
Location: San Antonio, TX
Reports to: Division Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while working with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
Safety Leadership
- Lead the promotion and enforcement of company and project safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards
- Review and oversee all safety-critical activities including excavation, rigging, trenching, hot work, and traffic control
- Verify accurate and current utility locates prior to excavation
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards
- Review and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and all project documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications
- Oversee document control, redlines, and project files
Project Efficiency
- Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Optimize construction sequencing and execution
- Lead daily project meetings and resolve issues proactively
- Utilize tools such as SiteDocs, Bluebeam, B2W, Viewpoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and scheduling software
Planning & Production
- Develop and maintain master project schedules
- Manage project handoff and short-term planning (two-week lookaheads)
- Coordinate site logistics including trailers, utilities, security, and services
Cost & Budget Management
- Track job costs, forecasts, and cash flow
- Manage billing, invoices, and change orders
- Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts
- Maintain cost projections and risk/opportunity tracking
- Ensure accurate daily field reporting for labor, equipment, and production
Business Development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Provide regular project updates to leadership and stakeholders
Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers
- Support hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Experience managing projects valued between $40M–$60M
- 7+ years of experience in civil construction
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Minimum 3 years of experience in dry utilities (underground utility construction, including electrical utilities for municipalities, cities, and infrastructure development)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in earthwork in combination with heavy civil construction
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in construction management software tools
