Cybersecurity Project Manager

Overview

Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise organization, is seeking a Project Manager II to support initiatives within their Enterprise Security Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This role will focus on driving execution across endpoint protection and cybersecurity-related projects, ensuring delivery across scope, schedule, budget, and quality. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on, self-driven PM who is comfortable operating in a matrixed environment and engaging with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple IT and cybersecurity projects, ensuring alignment with PMO standards
  • Manage all phases of project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
  • Drive scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource management across projects
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and interface with functional managers to resolve conflicts and ensure delivery
  • Establish and maintain clear communication across stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Lead project meetings, status reporting, and executive presentations
  • Ensure governance compliance with enterprise PMO frameworks and methodologies
  • Support change management efforts, including training, communications, and business readiness
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO processes, standards, and reporting


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT project management experience
  • Proven experience managing cybersecurity projects
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present to leadership
  • Experience managing projects in a matrixed organization
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Project planning & scheduling
  • Risk and issue management
  • Budgeting and cost controls
  • Stakeholder management
  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing cybersecurity or endpoint protection projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP, CAPM, or similar certification preferred
