Experienced Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Salary: $80,000 to $95,000
Position Overview
- Seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead complex projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Responsible for managing multiple projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget
- Ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and confident making independent decisions in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full lifecycle commercial construction projects from planning through completion
- Develop, maintain, and control project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams across multiple states
- Oversee field operations to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Manage project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, and change orders
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Drive project execution to meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to stakeholders and leadership
- Identify potential risks and implement proactive solutions to prevent delays or cost overruns
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and project closeout procedures
- Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers and field personnel
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong background in tenant improvements, commercial interiors, retail, banking, or similar environments
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and subcontractors
- Proficiency with construction management software; Procore preferred
- Solid understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working in multi-state operations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar tools
- OSHA certification or strong knowledge of safety standards
Work Environment & Requirements
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
