RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Lead and manage large capital equipment projects from concept through installation
• Develop and modify designs using 2D and 3D AutoCAD
• Apply mechanical design principles to custom furnace and thermal processing systems
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout project lifecycle
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure material and equipment requirements are met
• Travel to customer sites to supervise equipment installations and commissioning
• Evaluate, select, and manage outside contractors for on-site installations
• Provide hands-on oversight during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
• Troubleshoot design and field issues as they arise
• Support continuous improvement of engineering and project execution processes
• Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
• Mechanical Engineering degree (required)
• Strong experience with both 2D and 3D AutoCAD
• Demonstrated mechanical design ability
• Experience managing large-scale capital equipment projects
• Ability and willingness to travel for installation supervision
• Strong customer-facing communication skills
• Experience interacting with suppliers and contractors
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in thermal processing or furnace systems (highly preferred)
• Experience hiring and managing outside installation contractors
• Background in industrial equipment manufacturing
• Hands-on field project experience beyond administrative project management
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
