Program Management Associate - Planner GIS Specialist

Wilmot Inc. | Sustainability Consulting
Nashville, TN

Program Management Associate - Planner/GIS Specialist

Wilmot Inc. is a small, growing consulting firm based in Nashville, focused on civil infrastructure, sustainability, and program management work for public and private clients across the Southeast. We are women owned and partner with national firms on major civic programs. Our team is small enough that you'll work directly with leadership and large enough to take on serious work.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Program Management Associate - Planner/GIS Specialist to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. In this position, you will support HDR's East Bank Program, a large and complex multidisciplinary development and infrastructure program, with planning, GIS, schedule tracking, technical writing, QA review, and program coordination. This is a full-time role with an immediate start preferred.

East Bank is one of the largest civic infrastructure programs in the Southeast, and this role puts you at the center of it. You will work side by side with HDR's senior program team while reporting to Wilmot leadership, getting the technical depth of a national firm and the career trajectory of a small one.

Your GIS and planning work will inform decisions made by city departments, the Mayor's office, NDOT, TDOT, and federal agencies. Wilmot will support your AICP credentialing, help support continuing education, and structure your role to grow into broader program management responsibility rather than stay boxed into a technical lane.

If you want meaningful work on civic infrastructure and a real path into project and program management, this role is built for you.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, transportation planning, GIS, civil engineering, geography, public administration, or related field.
  • AICP preferred, or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in planning, transportation, infrastructure, GIS, or a related consulting field.
  • Strong GIS proficiency required; experience with ArcGIS, spatial data management, mapping, and data visualization strongly preferred.
  • CADD proficiency or experience reading engineering drawings/plans is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing, QA review, and presentation skills.
  • Experience or interest in project budgeting, accounting, forecasting, and project controls.
  • Forthright, organized communicator who is comfortable requesting updates, checking progress, and helping team members stay accountable.
  • Desire to work for a small, growing company and grow into increasing project/program management responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GIS mapping, data organization, analysis, and visualization to support East Bank program planning, coordination, and decision-making.
  • Help update and maintain program schedule and tracking tools, including building- and asset-level information organized by month and milestone.
  • Coordinate the work of single- and multidisciplinary teams throughout the project life cycle, under the supervision of Program and/or Project Managers.
  • Assist with implementation and use of the Capital Project Management System, including Oracle Primavera Cloud and Unifier.
  • Prepare and review planning memoranda, technical writing, presentation materials, QA/QC documentation, and other program communications.
  • Take meeting notes, track action items, follow up with team members, and help keep work moving on schedule.
  • Lead special assignments related to planning, GIS, engineering coordination, and program management.
  • Assist in coordination with City departments, the Mayor's Office, NDOT, TDOT, MTA, state and federal agencies, outside consultants, and contractors.
  • Participate in professional organizations and local market activities as appropriate.

Location and Schedule

  • Full-time position based in the Nashville, TN area.
  • Immediate start preferred.

Salary

  • Full-time
  • Competitive dependent on experience and skills

Benefits

  • 401 (k)
  • Healthcare reimbursement
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave
