Job Title: Production Planner

Job Description

As a Production Planner, you will develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand and forecast. You will convert customer orders into production orders within the ERP system and sequence jobs to optimize machine utilization, minimize changeovers, and improve efficiency. Additionally, you will monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary, coordinate with production managers and shift supervisors to ensure schedule adherence, and maintain accurate production orders, work orders, and schedules in the ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure BOMs, routings, and lead times are correctly reflected in the system.
  • Track production performance versus schedule.
  • Analyze schedule variances and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure raw materials and packaging materials are available prior to production.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning/scheduling.
  • 2-3 years of experience utilizing an ERP system.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing environments such as plastics, extrusion, or process manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience working with IFS ERP.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a plastic manufacturing setting, which can be hot due to machinery. You may be required to work between two sites located within 3.5 miles of each other in Des Plaines. Flexibility to work later than normal shifts and on weekends is required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Des Plaines, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64000.00 - $96000.00/yr.
