Summary: This role is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for leading the production departments of the company; Davenport, Acme, Hydromat & CNC. This role will work in partnership with the owners to plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity.

· Actively troubleshoot technical issues with production staff.

· Order tooling and repair parts for all departments. Meet with tooling vendors to improve the design of tools and negotiate discounts.

Essential Job Duties:

· Lead, manage and assume accountability for all production staff.

· Actively troubleshoot technical issues with production staff.

· Order tooling and repair parts for all departments. Meet with tooling vendors to improve the design of tools and negotiate discounts.

· Design/re-design tools so jobs will run more efficiently.

· Actively participate in the employee life cycle of production staff (hire, train, discipline, administer performance reviews, resolve employee issues, as well as terminate).

· Review processing schedules/production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, tooling orders, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

· Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems and improve shop efficiency.

· Review operations with the Maintenance Manager to problem solve production or process issues, as well as troubleshoot machinery.

· Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility/equipment maintenance or modification.

· Coordinate all new equipment that is going onto the manufacturing floor.

· Meet with lead people regarding tooling and process prior to new jobs being run.

· Use EstiTrack (ERP Software) to understand when material is due and be able to locate when needed for a job.

· Ensure preventive maintenance is completed for all Davenport and CNC Machines.

· Check all prints that are updated or changed and attach corresponding paperwork.

· Attend and lead various meetings throughout the week to keep necessary parties informed of what is occurring on the manufacturing floor.


Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of senior leadership, strategic planning, and business operations experience.
  • Five (5) years Machining or Tool Design experience.
  • Able to use a comparator and various micrometers.
  • Experience working in an ISO certified facility and meeting quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote a culture of trust and teamwork among production staff and leadership team.
  • Able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain these relationships over time.
  • Able to inspect equipment/materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Gmail.
  • Experience with an ERP System, preferred.
