The Role
The Production Director leads end-to-end production strategy and execution, ensuring each collection is delivered on time, within margin, and to the highest quality standards. This role partners cross-functionally with design, technical, logistics, and warehouse teams while maintaining strong vendor relationships and operational oversight across all stages of production.
What You’ll Do
Product Development & Costing
- Review all samples and create detailed costing sheets for every collection
- Review mini markers to ensure accurate yields and material consumption
- Review samples, trims, and mockups for bulk approvals, ensuring alignment with design intent and production standards
- Produce videos for each style, reviewing construction details to support costing and internal alignment
- Assist the technical team with specs and garment construction as needed
- Support follow-up on PP (Pre-Production) and TOP (Top of Production) status for all styles
Production Planning & Execution
- Prepare for and lead line reviews, driving production readiness and issue resolution
- Create and issue purchase orders for bulk production
- Develop size breakdowns and packing instructions for all styles
- Create allocation boards by delivery to support distribution planning
- Solve daily manufacturing issues related to fabric, trims, sewing, and delivery timelines
Vendor Management & Communication
- Negotiate CMT prices with factories to meet margin targets
- Conduct regular calls with factories for touch-base meetings and production follow-ups
- Set up video calls with new vendors and manufacturers for initial introductions and onboarding
Quality Control
- Review and manage QC team inspection schedules
- Review and provide comments on in-line and final inspection reports
- Schedule QC inspections with SGS for vendors outside of China
Logistics, Compliance & Imports
- Negotiate freight quotations and create consolidation schedules for shipments
- Review and approve commercial invoices (C/INV) and packing lists; assign HTS codes and assist pricing
- Maintain and update the HTS code list to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review and approve AWB and 7501 entry forms
- Review and approve shipping for Hong Kong international units (pick & pack)
- Track packages to ensure timely delivery and manage duty processing
- Issue Letters of Credit against purchase orders as needed
Systems & Inventory Management
- Enter received merchandise into AIMS
- Maintain and update all styles in AIMS throughout and post-production
- Upload all new collection styles into the RFID portal
- Generate UPC codes and print replacement hang tag UPC stickers for the warehouse
- Order RFID stickers and hangers as needed
- Create and maintain internal and external WIP (Work-In-Progress) charts
Financial Oversight
- Process all invoices related to bulk production
- Calculate and track final margins to ensure profitability targets are met

Nice to Have
Experience working within contemporary or luxury fashion environments, with a strong understanding of global manufacturing and supply chain operations. Familiarity with systems such as AIMS, RFID platforms, and import/export processes—including HTS classification and freight coordination—is a plus. A proactive mindset, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to anticipate and resolve production challenges before they arise will set you apart.
