Production Associate

Job Description

The Production Associate plays a vital role in packaging and preparing hay-based products for shipment. In this position, you ensure all products meet quality and weight standards while operating equipment safely and efficiently. You contribute directly to a safe, productive, and positive work environment in a fast-paced production facility.

Responsibilities

  • Package hay-based products to meet defined quality, weight, and presentation specifications.
  • Operate packaging and production line equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow all safety and food safety protocols at all times to protect product integrity and team safety.
  • Maintain required production rates and assist with line changes, setups, and changeovers as needed.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly communicate any equipment issues or irregularities to supervisors.
  • Support general production tasks, including loading, picking, packing, and assembly line work as required.
  • Assist with basic machine setup and adjustments, using mechanical aptitude to support troubleshooting activities.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in general production or as a general production worker.
  • 2+ years of experience in machine operating or machine operation within a production environment.
  • Previous production or warehouse experience preferred, with exposure to fast-paced operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate production and packaging machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in machine setup and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs (and up to 100 lbs for bulk products), including overhead lifting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.
  • Experience working on production lines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with safety and food safety protocols in a manufacturing or production setting.

Shifts Available:

  • 1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 6am-4pm
  • 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 4pm-2am
  • Optional Overtime available on Fridays!

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.34 - $19.34/hr.
