Pay Rate - $28/hour on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Quality Engineer to support vehicle quality initiatives within a manufacturing assembly plant environment. This role serves as the "Voice of the Customer" by driving resolution of electrical quality concerns, investigating defects, analyzing warranty trends, and partnering with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering background, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for working on the manufacturing floor to understand and improve the vehicle build process.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve vehicle electrical quality issues, warranty concerns, and customer-reported defects.
- Review warranty claims and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality teams to improve product quality.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and support achievement of plant quality KPIs.
- Utilize FMEA and other risk assessment tools to identify and mitigate product and process risks.
- Support implementation of product and process changes through risk assessments and readiness reviews.
- Monitor defect containment activities and ensure nonconforming vehicles do not escape the manufacturing process.
- Support quality investigations related to recalls, customer satisfaction concerns, rapid service updates, and warranty issues.
- Participate in shop-floor troubleshooting activities and provide hands-on support to manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and present quality findings, corrective actions, and performance updates to management and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of engineering, manufacturing, quality, or automotive-related experience (internships/co-ops considered).
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working extensively on the production floor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous automotive manufacturing or assembly plant experience.
- Experience with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, or Supplier Quality.
- Knowledge of FMEA, Control Plans, PFMEA, and quality systems.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
- Experience resolving complex product quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Exposure to vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, and electronic modules.
