Function of the group: Were responsible for the customer facing and employee facing desin systems. That’s the most widely used design system. We work on a set of design standards that all of online banking and drives efficiency with the internal development teams that are building.
Initiatives/Projects: 2 main initiatives. We have an implementation of design tokens we are working on. The there’s also understanding angular component libraries and things along that line. Design tokens, Figma design variable and understand that would be very helpful. We have a backlog of accessibility tickets that we need to fix on the maintenance crew. This person will immediately focus on accessibility.
Industry Background: Finance/banking preferred
Team Dynamic: a large team that’s working across the primary design system, 5 designers. 7 designers total across the team.
Responsibilities:
- This role is for a Product Owner of the Ledger design system component library.
- The Ledger design system component library for our primary online banking and account opening digital experiences inclusive of all products on these digital platforms (Consumer Deposits, Wealth Management, Private Bank, Small Business, Lending, Credit Card).
- The design component library is consumed by several client product design teams with 60 plus product designers and content designers and many consuming engineering teams.
- This role will work together with the other component library product owners across Retail and Private Bank.
Responsible for:
- Understanding business goals, objectives and OKRs and communicating business value to inspire and motivate design system crew work
- Delivery and stability of UI components (eg buttons, text input fields) to development crews as part of the design system component library
- Coordinates with component library dev crews to communicate and facilitate changes such as responding to requests for new and enhanced components and fielding support requests
- Works directly with design pods for design requirements on new components and modifications / enhancements to existing components, design governance and delivering tech components in alignment with design
- Works with other Design System POs on PI planning and maintains component library roadmaps
- Coordinates long-term maintenance, vulnerability remediation, and tech dependencies
- Design systems / UI component library product ownership experience preferred
- Knowledge of Storybook, Jira, Figma, Knapsack
- ADA Accessibility (WCAG 2.2) knowledge / experience required
- Development / engineering experience helpful
Must Have Skills:
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Atlassian products (Confluence and Jira)
- Building/Maintaining design systems

- Design/Engineering collaboration
- Experience with Collaborative Interface Design Tools (Ex: Figma)
- Storybook- Have good knowledge
