Procurement Specialist

Our client, a leader in aerospace manufacturing, is hiring a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Winston-Salem, NC!

**This is a 6-month W2 contract with benefits**

As the Procurement Specialist, you will support the acquisition and sourcing of materials required for engineering development and operational initiatives, ensuring timely procurement of both direct and indirect materials in a fast-paced, rapid-response environment. This role sits within an Engineering Development Lab (EDL) and requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage competing priorities, drive supplier performance, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement activities across assigned Statements of Work (SOWs)
• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders to support build and test requirements
• Source materials with quick turnaround to support engineering and production timelines
• Conduct competitive supplier bids and evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, and risk
• Track and manage vendor performance, including on-time delivery metrics
• Utilize procurement systems such as Ariba for purchasing activities
• Maintain and update SOW tracking dashboards (SharePoint)

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience in procurement within manufacturing, aerospace, or engineering environments
• Experience with supplier sourcing, negotiations, and vendor management
• Familiarity with Ariba or similar procurement systems
• Exposure to Kaizen, Lean, or continuous improvement initiatives
