Akkodis is seeking a for a Procurement Specialist - ITAR at Location: Phoenix, AZ for a contract Duration: 06+ Months initially.


Pay Range: $48/h- $50/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors


Work Arrangement: Onsite for first 90 days, then hybrid option available


Role Overview

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead the end-to-end cycle of government proposals and subcontracts. This role supports mechanical assembly sourcing activities and involves managing FAR15-compliant packages, negotiating subcontracts, and mentoring team members. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations while driving supplier strategies that deliver best value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute subcontracts in accordance with FAR15, DFARS, and applicable regulations.
  • Develop strong negotiation positions and lead contract execution.
  • Manage relationships with key program suppliers.
  • Mentor and train team members to strengthen sourcing capabilities.
  • Build supplier strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Partner with Pricing, Engineering, and Program teams to deliver compliant packages.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or Finance.
  • U.S. Person (due to contractual requirements).
  • Hands-on subcontracting experience with FAR15 compliance.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience managing subcontracts across all phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS).
  • Familiarity with SAP, MS Office Suite, and other subcontract management tools.
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or similar industries.
  • Experience with contract types (FFP, CP, CPIF) and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD).
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions independently.

  • Provide an example where you trained teammates through a tight-deadline proposal or audit prep.
  • How did you set standards, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance and on-time delivery?
