Position Summary: The Procurement Specialist supports day-to-day purchasing and supplier coordination activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This junior-level role works closely with operations, finance, and vendors to maintain supply continuity, process purchase orders, and uphold procurement policies while gaining hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain operations.

Description of Duties:

• Assist with creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders in accordance with company policies 
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand operational purchasing needs 
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery timelines, and order status 
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier files, and contract documentation 
• Monitor order fulfillment and escalate issues related to delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns 
• Support vendor onboarding and basic supplier relationship management activities 
• Assist in analyzing spend data and preparing procurement reports 
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, internal controls, and audit requirements 
• Provide general administrative support to the procurement and operations teams 

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills 
• Basic understanding of procurement, supply chain, or operations concepts 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative 
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners
• Familiarity with purchase order systems, ERP platforms, or procurement software 
• Experience working with vendors or supporting operational teams 
• Interest in developing a career in procurement or supply chain management 
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
• 0–2 years of experience in procurement, operations, supply chain, or administrative support roles (internships and co-op experience acceptable) 
• Basic understanding of purchasing processes and vendor management preferred

Work Environment: Food manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and food ingredients. Must comply with hygiene and sanitation standards, including hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. Office environment.
