Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in manufacturing procurement, supplier management, and cost optimization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier evaluation, certification, and compliance with government regulations
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Issue RFQs, analyze bids, and negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors
  • Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve discrepancies or quality issues
  • Track market trends and identify new sourcing opportunities
  • Inspect incoming materials to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize procurement spend
  • Partner with inventory and production planning teams to ensure proper stock levels and material flow
  • Support and implement automated systems to enhance supply chain efficiency
  • Lead procurement initiatives such as supplier reduction, consolidated purchasing, and supplier-managed inventory
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audits, and regulatory requirements
  • Benchmark and implement best practices in supplier management
  • Lead and mentor a team of buyers and clerks


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience developing procurement strategies and leading teams
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with a track record of cost savings
  • Experience analyzing data to drive sourcing decisions
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management experience
  • Knowledge of market trends and supplier landscapes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field
  • APICS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 1 year)
