Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an organization that is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist. This role is responsible for managing formal procurement activities, leading competitive bid processes, and ensuring timely, compliant purchasing of goods and services. The position plays a key role in driving cost-effective sourcing, vendor performance, and contract execution.
Job Duties
- Lead procurement meetings, including pre-bid meetings, bid openings, award discussions, negotiations, and bidder debriefs
- Issue formal solicitations such as Invitations to Bid and Requests for Quote (RFQ) for goods, services, and project work
- Process procurement requisitions within established spending thresholds
- Evaluate supplier quotes for pricing accuracy, competitiveness, lead time, and compliance with specifications
- Generate and manage purchase orders throughout the procurement lifecycle
- Coordinate site visits, vendor communications, and internal follow-ups to support solicitation timelines
- Monitor contract performance and address compliance issues or required changes
- Maintain detailed procurement records, including vendor data, quote history, and pricing benchmarks
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract administration
- Experience managing RFQs, purchase orders, and formal bid processes
- Knowledge of procurement policies, competitive bidding procedures, and contract compliance
- Experience analyzing vendor quotes for cost, accuracy, and specification alignment
- Proficiency with standard business software, including spreadsheets, databases, and email systems
- Experience in maintaining procurement documentation and audit-ready records
Desired
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and compliance standards
- Experience supporting construction, goods, or service-based sourcing activities
- Experience leading bid events and vendor-facing procurement meetings
- Familiarity with contract performance tracking and vendor issue resolution
- Understanding of budgeting processes related to procurement planning
- Experience preparing procurement reports, summaries, or supporting documentation
- Experience with enterprise or department-specific procurement systems
