A major utility organization is seeking a Procurement Contract Manager to oversee high-value, complex contracts supporting PG&E’s enterprise-wide Propel Program—a large-scale SAP S/4HANA and digital transformation initiative.
This role is ideal for an experienced contracts professional who excels at managing system integrator relationships, negotiating sophisticated agreements, and ensuring end-to-end compliance across major technology and business programs.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and trusted advisor who partners closely with executive leadership, Legal, Risk, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive contract performance and minimize value leakage.

💵 Salary Range: (Bay Area) $140,000 to $207,000 salary

Key Responsibilities
Contract Leadership & Negotiations
- Lead contract lifecycle management for major system integrator and professional services partners.
- Negotiate complex contracts, extensions, change orders, and milestone-based deliverables independently.
- Provide strategic contracting guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional program teams.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with critical 3rd-party system integration partners supporting SAP S/4HANA modernization.
- Drive cost management, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
- Ensure partners meet contractual obligations, KPIs, and delivery commitments.
Compliance, Audit & Reporting
- Analyze contracts for compliance issues; identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify adherence to terms.
- Develop and maintain compliance reports, documentation, and risk assessments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison with PG&E’s Legal, Risk, and Procurement teams.
- Support program leadership with escalation management and strategic decision-making.
- Lead training and mentorship for junior contract management team members.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate and improve contract processes, documentation standards, and governance frameworks.
- Contribute to operating model enhancements that support PG&E’s transformation efforts.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 9+ years of experience in contract management, sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex contracts—preferably in digital transformation, ERP/SAP, system integration, or technology modernization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
- Experience in QA/QC for contract documentation.
- Utility or infrastructure industry experience.
- Hands-on expertise with contract negotiation, change orders, RFPs, and strategic sourcing.
- Advanced proficiency with SAP, Ariba, SRM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
