Overview: Responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing processes for conventional and smart cards in the Printing and Finishing Departments while abiding by all standards and procedures put forth by the Engineering manager and supervisor. Additional duties include developing, qualifying and implementing new products, processes and materials for manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Follow and comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures
- Monitor, maintain and improve existing processes by identifying issues and proposing corrective actions with respective implementation while expressing a good problem solving capability
- Develop and manage new processes and projects thoroughly with proper documentation and consistent monitoring while reporting up to date statuses to the Engineering manager and supervisor
- Establish production standards, manufacturing capabilities and throughput capacities of all processes under engineering control for planning and scheduling needs
- Monitor, support and improve production yield rates in accordance with manufacturing goals
- Assist in defining industrialization plans for new processes, products, or equipment pertaining to the “R3” industrial qualification process in relation to Company Quality Assurance standards
- Investigate customer complaints with Quality Assurance, Production and Client Services and make recommendations regarding quality controls to resolve customer complaint issues

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university with emphasis in mechanical, electrical, industrial or chemical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and three or more years in a production/manufacturing engineering environment
- Possess an understanding of engineering principles to include developing, qualifying and implementing new production processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent time management, communications, presentation and organization skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Knowledge on thermal dynamics principles and
- Experience in printing processes or industry not required but a plus.
- Experience with new products development, qualification and introduction
- Experience in root cause analysis, problem solving in using different methodologies (8D, 6 Sigma, QRQC, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft applications to include Excel and Pivot tables.
- Ability to work alone and in a team based environment
