A boutique law firm in North Bethesda is seeking Paralegal to support a busy probate and estate administration practice. This is a role ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a high-volume caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and supporting documentation with Maryland courts (paper filing only; no e-filing)
  • Manage estate administration cases from opening to closing, including asset location, deadline tracking, and coordinating withdrawals from the state
  • Draft client correspondence and estate-related letters; prepare and send physical mailings
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client communication and coordinate with the Registers of Wills office by phone regarding case status and filing requirements
  • Maintain organized, accurate case files in both electronic and physical format
  • Manage documents using Clio case management software and Microsoft 365, including PDF conversion and records management

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA-approved program preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of probate-specific experience strongly preferred; candidates with this background will be considered for higher compensation
  • Working knowledge of Maryland probate procedures and court filing requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with Clio or similar case management software a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously
  • Professional, client-facing demeanor
