Job Title: Printing Press Operator
Job Description

The Printing Press Operator will specialize in flexography (web-based) printing, directing the production of all items to meet established specifications in terms of quality and quantity at the lowest cost. The role involves overseeing a team consisting of the 2nd pressman and line take-off person, ensuring that print jobs are processed according to customer specifications on the flexo-web press. The operator checks for color match and excellence in printing output, providing leadership and direction to the printing team to produce the best printed results. Additionally, the operator assists and supports the Plant and Operation Manager in all aspects.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the printing production of items to meet established specifications in terms of quality and quantity at the lowest cost.
  • Oversee a team consisting of the 2nd pressman and line take-off person.
  • Ensure print jobs are processed per customer specifications on the flexo-web press.
  • Check for color match and excellence in printing output.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the printing team.
  • Assist and support the Plant and Operation Manager in all aspects.
  • Protect and strengthen the company's reputation in relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, acting consistently with core values such as Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.
Essential Skills
  • Experience as a Press Operator with specialization in flexography.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.
  • Excellent attendance and independence.
  • Ability to perform duties effectively.
  • Experience with Heidelberg printing press.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Results-driven individual with goals of advancing within the organization.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Foresight, creativity, sense of urgency, and good organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.

Work Environment

The facility is not climate-controlled and employs about 170 permanent staff with 30 temporary workers. It operates 24/7, providing opportunities for overtime. The role requires wearing steel toe boots, and the company provides gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses to ensure safety. The shift is from 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday, with the potential to move to a 12-hour rotating schedule. Flexibility with shift coverage is necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenixville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
