2nd Shift: 12PM-1AM MON-THURS!

Job Description

The Press Brake Operator sets up and operates various punch press and press brake machines to produce high-quality metal parts from thin stainless steel. This role focuses primarily on machine operation with a strong emphasis on accuracy, visual inspection, and working from blueprints and schematics to ensure parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate punch press and press brake equipment, including Ermak, Durma, and Accurpress machines, for the majority of the shift.
  • Perform visual inspection of produced parts to verify quality, dimensions, and overall appearance, identifying and reporting any defects.
  • Work from blueprints and schematics to produce parts that meet required measurements and specifications.
  • Handle and process thin stainless steel components typically ranging from 1 to 8 pounds.
  • Lift and move boxes of parts and materials weighing up to 40 pounds as needed throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency on the manufacturing floor.
  • Follow established production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve basic machine or quality issues.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to learn machine setup, operation techniques, and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly about any equipment concerns, material issues, or process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and production methods.
  • Previous press brake operating experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience operating punch press equipment such as Ermak, Durma, or Accurpress machines is beneficial.
  • Experience in metal stamping, metal fabrication, or a similar manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a family-owned metal stamping and tube bending operation that has grown into four connected buildings. The manufacturing floor has approximately 30 to 35 team members and offers a laid-back, supportive atmosphere where everyone works together as a unit. The facility is clean and well-organized, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Operators work primarily with thin stainless steel parts using punch press and press brake equipment, including Ermak, Durma, and Accurpress machines. The company provides as much hands-on training as needed for motivated individuals with a positive attitude. Dress is typical for a manufacturing environment, with practical, work-appropriate clothing suitable for operating machinery and handling metal components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
