Title: Power House Mechanic

Salary: $38.33/hour
Schedule: 4-10's or 5x8's (may vary between days, nights and weekends)

Focus: The Power House Mechanic is responsible for operating and maintaining systems that generate and distribute power, such as steam, electricity, heating and cooling.

Power House Mechanic Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate and control power equipment, such as boilers, turbines, generators.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery.
  • Adjust pressure, temperature, and output to meet facility demands.
  • Maintain safety standards and logs for compliance and reporting.

Power House Mechanic Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet one (1) of the following requirements:
    • Two (2) years' experience operating high-pressure steam boilers or performing boiler system maintenance; OR,
    • Completion of college or trade school coursework or certificates in HVAC, industrial maintenance, boiler operations, or a related technical field; OR,
    • Relevant military training or experience in mechanical, utilities, engineering, or maintenance specialties.
  • Candidates hired under the education or military qualification path must be able to complete the in-house Boiler Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire and renew it every five (5) years.
  • Must be able to recertify every five years using in-house certification processes.
  • Must be able to successfully complete specific environmental training and testing.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Delta V, etc.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license.
  • Ability to lift, carry and push up to 100 pounds using team lift and support devices.
  • Ability and willingness to work Weekends, including overtime.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
