Job Title: Plumbing Helper - Commercial

Job Description

The Construction Plumbing Helper supports licensed plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems within commercial construction projects. This role involves hands-on assistance with plumbing tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on the job site.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems.
  • Prepare pipes and materials for installation, including measuring, cutting, and assembling piping.
  • Install and replace plumbing fixtures such as faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, and related components.
  • Assist with adjusting water pressure to meet applicable plumbing codes and standards.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and support repairs as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and job site regulations.
  • Carry tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by lead plumbers or supervisors.

Essential Skills

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing tools and materials.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn commercial plumbing systems and techniques.
  • Physical ability to lift materials, stand for long periods, and work in construction environments.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in assisting the installation of new plumbing systems and making repairs to existing systems per local and international plumbing codes.
  • Ability to handle a physical workload.
  • Experience working with hand and power tools.
  • General labor and mechanical installation experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience with PVC pipe fitting, repair, and installation.

Work Environment

The role involves working on a construction team and traveling to various construction sites to install plumbing systems. The position requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, and reaching.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
