Are you willing to get dirty to see the success of an exciting industry?Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Boone Quarry West in Columbia, MO.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Disassemble machines and remove parts for repairs using hand tools, chain falls, jacks or hoists
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear
- Collaborate with team members to repair moving machine parts for equipment or transport materials between work areas
- Lubricate machines, machine parts or other equipment according to standards
- Tend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processes
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
- Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed
- Work in a team environment
- Clean work areas
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment
- Notify supervisors of repairs needed
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and Experience:- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Valid US driver’s license
Skills:- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Physical Abilities- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
