What You’ll Do
The Shipping Lead is responsible for assisting the Shipping Supervisor with organizing and directing all outbound warehousing functions while ensuring safety, efficiency and quality, according to company policies. This role is responsible for coordinating the loading and routing of each day’s production onto the appropriate truck for the next morning’s delivery.
Location: 210 Industrial Parkway, Branchburg, NJ, 08876
Work Schedule: Night Shift: Monday – Friday 4:30pm-1:00am, overtime as needed
Starting Pay Rate: $25.73 per hour + $3 shift differential
Responsibilities
· Coordinate and participate in the daily shipping and loading operations, ensuring manufactured doors are safely and efficiently loaded onto trucks by state or region
· Direct and support the loading team, assigning priorities, communicating load order, and troubleshooting workflow or staffing challenges to meet shipping schedules
· Prepare, review, and organize daily shipping documentation
· Finalize routing for each truck in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) system
· Perform quality checks on all materials and ensure all scheduled deliveries are scanned to the correct truck
· Account for any units that have not been loaded (damaged, missing, lack of space)
· Scan in returned materials from the prior day
· Support Lean initiatives as they pertain to the loading of trucks, material handling, dock maintenance and safety
· Provide training and support for training activities
· Exercise sound judgement to resolve identified problems and communicate the team progress, challenges, and required resources to the shipping supervisor
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment
· Maintain an adequate level of product and forklift knowledge
· Wear PPE such as composite/steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves (per job function), and high visibility clothing
· All other duties as directed by management
Qualifications
· HS Diploma or GED preferred
· Must be at least 18 Years Old
· At minimum one year of experience in a leadership role
· Work safely and follow all plant rules
· Show initiative, be a self-starter
· Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
· Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have end of shift flexibility
· Forklift knowledge and safety procedures
· Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have ability to multi-task
· Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service
· Ability to use an RF scanner and a pallet jack safely
· Ability to wrap pallets and use ratchet straps to ensure load stability and product protection during transit and storage
· Preferably one year experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
· Preferably one year experience operating a forklift
