𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲
A publicly traded global manufacturer of specialty chemicals and advanced electronic materials is racing to scale a breakthrough materials platform that powers the AI, electric-vehicle, datacenter, and semiconductor boom, a genuine first-to-market technology with a capital program of more than $150M behind it. A newer, higher-throughput site is coming online, and you own its technical direction as it is commissioned and scaled: the engineering strategy, process optimization, and equipment that turn a build into a running, improving plant.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
• You want to commission and scale a new site's engineering from the ground up, not optimize a mature line
• You are energized, not unnerved, solving problems hands-on around reactive and hazardous chemicals (flammable solvents, corrosives) in a process-safety-first operation
• You wear many hats, flex day to day, and set the engineering standards as you go
• You move with urgency and get on the floor to fix things yourself
• You want to be on the cutting edge of a material the world has not made at this scale before
• If you want an established plant with mature, fully-documented processes, this is not your role
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘄𝗻
• Set and drive the site's technical strategy alongside operations and growth goals
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to solve complex engineering and production problems
• Drive process improvements across safety, quality, throughput, and cost
• Oversee design, commissioning, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action on critical and recurring failures
• Support capital projects from planning and budgeting through execution and validation
• Mentor engineering talent and build the site's engineering standards from scratch
• Partner across engineering, R&D (research and development), and sister sites to standardize best practices
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴
• 8 to 12+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated leadership
• Manufacturing experience, preferably high-volume; batch chemical manufacturing preferred
• Comfort solving problems hands-on in a hazardous-chemical, process-safety-driven environment
• Strong command of manufacturing processes, equipment, and reliability and maintenance strategy
• Continuous improvement depth (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Bachelor's in engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, or related); Master's preferred
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀
• Base salary $128,636 to $192,954, plus a performance bonus
• Strong 401(k) match plus an additional company contribution, an employee stock purchase plan, medical with an employer health savings account (HSA) contribution, company-paid life and disability, and generous paid time off (PTO)
