Position Summary
The Production Control & ERP Coordinator is responsible for managing and validating production order flow within the ERP system, ensuring alignment between planning, materials availability & location, and warehouse readiness. This role acts as a key link between planning, procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure all materials are ready for production and all orders are properly scheduled, fully resourced, and ready for execution.
Responsibilities
ERP & Order Management
- Manage and maintain production orders within the ERP system.
- Validate accuracy of open orders, including quantities, dates, and status.
- Ensure all production orders have been properly reviewed and planned prior to release.
- Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in ERP data related to open and in-process orders.
Production Control & Planning Coordination
- Confirm all orders entered into the ERP system align with the approved production plan.
- Work closely with production planners to ensure schedules are feasible and up to date.
- Identify gaps or issues in planning and escalate as needed.
- Support prioritization and sequencing of production orders.
Materials Readiness & Coordination
- Cross-reference with Production Planning and Purchasing to verify that all required raw materials and components have been ordered and are available.
- Coordinate with procurement to resolve shortages or delays.
- Ensure materials are allocated correctly to production orders, confirming quantities & locations.
Warehouse & Floor Readiness
- Partner with warehouse teams to validate that materials are picked, staged, and ready for production.
- Confirm production orders are fully prepared prior to releasing them to the production line.
- Resolve any discrepancies between ERP records and physical inventory.
Cross-Functional Coverage
- Develop working proficiency in Production Planning and Purchasing functions to ensure continuity of operations.
- Serve as backup for Production Planner by supporting scheduling, capacity planning, and order prioritization.
- Serve as backup for Purchaser by managing supplier communications, purchase orders, and material availability.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Act as a liaison between planning, procurement, warehouse, production teams, and Customer Service.
- Communicate order status, risks, and readiness issues to stakeholders in a timely and reliable manner.
- Support continuous improvement of order flow and ERP processes, making recommendations for beneficial actions and updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5+ years of experience in production control, ERP coordination, or supply chain operations
- Strong experience working within ERP system NetSuite
- Understanding of production planning, materials management, and inventory control
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
