Job Title: Mechanical Piping Designer

Duration: 6 months(Possible extension/conversion)

SHift timing: Mon - Fri Standard Shift

Location: Atlanta, GA 30339


Key Responsibilities:

• P&ID Development: Create and update P&IDs using industry-standard software, such as AutoCAD, to accurately represent the layout and functionality of piping, equipment, and instrumentation in industrial processes.

• Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements for P&IDs and ensure that they meet design specifications.

• Documentation: Generate detailed and clear P&ID documentation, including equipment symbols, instrument details, piping layouts, control loops and asset naming & numbering.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that P&IDs comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and project specific requirements.

• Component Selection: Collaborate with engineers to select appropriate piping materials, valves, instruments, and other components based on design and operational requirements.

• Change Management: Manage changes to P&IDs by documenting and tracking revisions, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of updates.

• Quality Control: Review and validate P&IDs for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that they are consistent with project goals and safety guidelines.

• As-Built Documentation: Create as-built P&IDs to reflect the actual configuration of systems after construction or modifications. This will require field walkdowns to QC accuracy of data and CAD work.

• Communication: Clearly communicate design concepts and modifications to team members and project stakeholders.

• Training and Support: Provide training and support to less experienced team members and drafters in P&ID development.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on P&ID development for industrial processes.

• Proficiency in P&ID software (AutoCAD).

• In depth understanding of industrial processes, equipment, and instrumentation.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to P&ID development. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality P&IDs.
