In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for engineering design and detailed drafting of metering skids, process skids, and piping assemblies using AutoCAD and CADWorx Plant 3D.
This role combines both Engineer-level responsibilities and Designer-level execution tasks, ensuring high‑quality 3D modelling, 2D drawings, and engineering deliverables.

The Engineer shall ensure alignment with customer specifications, internal standards, and national/international codes, and shall collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (E&I, Quality, Projects, Procurement).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Engineering Responsibilities (Engineer‑Level)

  • Review customer specifications, datasheets, RFQs, and project scope.

  • Finalize mechanical basis of design including:

    • P&ID [ Basic ] 

    • Mechanical Equipment List

    • General Arrangement (GA)

    • Bill of Materials (BOM)

    • Analysis [ STAAD + CAESAR Basic ]

  • Prepare and review engineering calculations:

    • Pressure drop / head loss

    • Pipe wall thickness

    • Lifting lug sizing

    • Basic structural checks

    • Analysis Reports Basics
       

  • Prepare Enquiry Datasheets and Material Requisitions for mechanical long‑lead items.

  • Review vendor offers, datasheets, and vendor drawings/documents.

  • Coordinate with E&I, Quality, Project Managers, and external vendors.

  • Participate in customer KOM, technical clarifications, deviation handling.

  • Support FAT / Pre‑FAT activities and prepare As‑Built documentation.

  • Ensure quality adherence and maintain engineering records.

 

B. Design & Drafting Responsibilities (Designer‑Level)

(Engineer is expected to perform and supervise these tasks)

  • Create project setup including piping class and CAD standards in CADWorx.

  • Develop 3D models of piping, structures, skids, instruments, and equipment.

  • Prepare and freeze:

    • 3D Model

    • Piping Isometrics (ISOGEN)

    • GA drawings

    • Fabrication drawings

    • Structural skid drawings

  • Perform 3D model review using Navisworks and resolve clashes.

  • Generate library modules/blocks, drawing templates, and viewports.

  • Maintain review logs and implement comments.

  • Support piping stress analysis model preparation (CAESAR II) and structural analysis input.

  • Provide timely escalation on quality, schedule, or budget risks.

 

Who You Are:

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)

Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years experience in:

    • Piping

    • Oil & Gas, Process, or Industrial Systems

    • Skid packages / metering skids preferred

Technical Skills

  • Expert in AutoCAD (2D drafting)

  • Hands‑on CADWorx Plant 3D / AutoCAD Plant 3D/ S3D / SP3D (piping + structural modelling)

  • Knowledge of:

    • ASME, ANSI, API, ISO & industry standards

    • Piping, instruments, valves, structural fabrication

    • Welding & NDT basics

    • Ergonomics for platform, ladder, access (ISO/OSHA)

  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Flexibility to multitask and handle schedule pressure

  • Decisive, results‑oriented, and quality‑focused

 

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Independently manage own engineering + design deliverables.

  • Supervise and guide Designer‑level activities when required.

  • Ensure quality and productivity of deliverables.

  • Provide cost‑saving ideas and process improvement suggestions.

 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Travel readiness for FAT, SAT, and vendor/site visits.

  • Ability to switch between multiple projects as required.

  • Adaptable to standard revisions, customer changes & project dynamics.
