Job: Pipeline Engineer II

Payrate: $70-$72/hr. on W2

Location: Salt Lake City UT

Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)

Job Summary: The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design of high-pressure steel natural gas pipelines for the Feeder-Line Replacement program. This role ensures all analysis, installation, commissioning, operability, and integrity requirements are met, including Code of Federal Regulations Part 192.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing, layout, block & tap valve placement
• Design pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways (open dig & trenchless methods)
• Perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress (internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc.)
• Specify pipe materials and coatings, and support material procurement
• Prepare and submit engineering documentation, calculations, forms, and checklists
• Develop pressure test procedures and support commissioning activities
• Track project schedules and monitor budgets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including drafting, right-of-way, cathodic protection, and environmental specialists

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an accredited college
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in high-pressure steel pipeline design and construction
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices (CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering analysis software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
