Job Description – Phlebotomist
Job Duration: 6+ Months (possible Temp to hire)
Shift: Between 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Work Week: 5 days/week (Saturday availability required)
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Travel: Weekly as needed between listed draw stations
Top Responsibilities:
• Perform routine phlebotomy procedures.
• Distinguish sample types and draw requirements with order of draw for lab testing.
• Navigate laboratory computer system with minimal to no errors.
• Perform pediatric and adult phlebotomy.
• Obtain finger stick collection.
• Verify patient demographics accurately with two patient identifiers.
• Adhere to infection control practices including handwashing protocols, aseptic techniques, protective barriers, PPE use, and hazardous material disposal.
• Demonstrate knowledge of role in emergency disaster response.
• Function as an effective team member; work cooperatively with physicians, nurses, and other staff.
• Display effective communication.
• Maintain pace of 4–6 patients per hour.
• Travel to all other draw stations and perform all tasks as required.
• Troubleshoot problems within LIS and partner with the LIS team to resolve issues.
Must‑Have Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Phlebotomy certification required
• High School Diploma/GED
