Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – Behavioral Health Clinic

Location: Southern Arizona (Tucson, Sierra Vista, Douglas)


Salary: $52,000 – $63,000 per year (DOE)


Dependable Staffing is seeking Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT) to support behavioral health and substance use treatment programs in a structured outpatient clinical setting. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends or holidays. Opportunities include local and travel pharmacy technician positions. Travel positions offer furnished lodging and travel reimbursement.


This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacy technician who thrives in a compliance-driven healthcare environment and is comfortable supporting patients in behavioral health and substance use treatment programs.


Position Overview


The Pharmacy Technician supports daily pharmacy operations by assisting the Pharmacist with medication dispensing, prescription processing, inventory management, and regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality customer service to patients and clinical staff.


This position operates within an outpatient behavioral health clinic setting and requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and prepare prescription orders for pharmacist verification
  • Perform prescription data entry and maintain accurate patient records in pharmacy systems
  • Assist with medication dispensing and labeling in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Order, receive, store, and manage medication inventory, including controlled substances
  • Maintain compliance with Arizona State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and HIPAA standards
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and clinic personnel
  • Support medication reconciliation and administrative pharmacy functions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and pharmacy records
  • Perform front-end customer service duties as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician Certification (Required)
  • National Certification (CPhT) – Required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent pharmacy technician experience
  • Strong knowledge of prescription processing and pharmacy operations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a structured clinical environment


Preferred Experience

  • Outpatient or clinical pharmacy experience
  • Behavioral health or substance use treatment program experience
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or pharmacy management systems
  • Experience handling controlled substances and compliance documentation
