Pharmacist

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: North Chicago, IL 60045 (Waukegan Road)

Duration: 6 Months (Potential for extension)

Shift & Schedule

• Training Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Operating Hours: Rotating shifts every 2 weeks between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
• Typical Shifts: 7:00–3:30, 9:00–5:30, or 11:00–7:30 (includes a 30-minute lunch).
• Overtime: Not required, but available based on business needs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Clinical Review: Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine necessary formulas/ingredients.
• Supervision: Direct pharmacy technicians and workers in the mixing, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict procedures for quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and hazardous waste disposal.
• Data Management: Accurately enter patient data, medication details, and costs into pharmacy inventory and charge systems.
• Consultation: Provide expert information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage to customers and medical personnel.
• Compounding: Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using standard formulas.

Candidate Requirements

• Licensure: Must be a Licensed Pharmacist.
• Experience:
• Retail, Mail Order, or Specialty pharmacy experience preferred (e.g., Walgreens, CVS).
• Industrial pharmacy backgrounds are acceptable if there is experience with high-volume orders, which would be a plus.
• Physical Demands: Must be comfortable being on your feet all day and able to push carts (up to 30 lbs) approximately every 3–4 hours.
• Soft Skills: Ambitious, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a high-volume distribution environment.

Environment & Logistics

• Work Setting: Distribution/Warehouse area.
• Patient Interaction: Limited/none initially, but may evolve in the future.
• Structure: This is a contractor role; candidates must be comfortable with the specific pay and benefits structure associated with contract work.
