We are in search of a Paralegal/Legal Secretary for our Chicago office!


2 years of experience working in plaintiff’s personal injury is required for consideration.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a plaintiff personal injury law firm as a case manager, legal secretary and/or paralegal
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with medical records, medical chronologies, and personal injury workflows is a plus
  • Familiarity with e-filing and various court rules, procedures and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software


Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation case preparation, including:
  • Reviewing and summarizing medical records
  • Creating medical and factual chronologies
  • Drafting demand packages and correspondence
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other third parties
  • Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and other case documentation
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files (electronic and physical)
  • Manage deadlines, calendars, and task lists to ensure timely case progression
  • Assist with litigation support as cases progress, including trial preparation when necessary
  • Identify liens and negotiate lien reductions under attorney supervision
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the legal team


This position is full-time, in-office. It is not remote.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
