The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role supports employees by maintaining payroll records, resolving payroll discrepancies, and partnering with HR and Finance to ensure timely and accurate compensation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi‑weekly, semi‑monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and audit employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies or errors
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, pay changes, and benefit deductions
- Assist with payroll-related reporting, audits, and year‑end activities (W‑2s, reconciliations, etc.)
- Utilize payroll systems and HRIS tools to maintain data integrity
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience
- Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field)
