Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Payroll Administrator at PADUCAH ISD. The Payroll Administrator will process and review payroll for all eligible employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with district policies and applicable regulations. Daily responsibilities include entering and updating employee payroll data, calculating wages and deductions, and reconciling payroll reports. The role will handle payroll tax reporting, garnishments, and benefit-related deductions in coordination with HR and Accounting. The Payroll Administrator will respond to employee payroll inquiries, maintain detailed and confidential payroll records, and assist with audits, month-end, and year-end payroll activities.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Payroll Administration, including end-to-end payroll processing, record maintenance, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and related reporting requirements, with the ability to ensure accurate withholding and filings.
  • Experience managing Garnishments and other court-ordered or statutory deductions in accordance with regulations.
  • Understanding of Employee Benefits as they relate to payroll, including benefit deductions, contributions, and adjustments.
  • Accounting skills sufficient to reconcile payroll accounts, identify discrepancies, and support financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheets; comfort learning new systems and tools.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with staff at all levels in a remote environment.
  • Prior experience in K–12 education, public sector, or a similar environment is beneficial.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
