Payroll Accountant
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Associate to support payroll operations and ensure compliance with U.S. tax and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for assisting in payroll processing, tax reporting, and regulatory filings while contributing to overall team objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with U.S. payroll and tax processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing for U.S. employees, including semi-monthly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls
- Support calculations related to earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll components
- Contribute to processing variable compensation, stock transactions, and deferred compensation
- Assist with payroll tax reporting and regulatory filings to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements
- Gather and validate data and documentation required for standard filings and reporting
- Support payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed
- Respond to routine employee and client inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions
- Assist with implementation of payroll-related plans and ensure deadlines are met
- Participate in special projects and lead less complex initiatives as assigned
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental objectives
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of total work experience, with a focus on payroll operations
- Hands-on experience with U.S. payroll processing, tax reporting, and analysis
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
