Mountain Sky Guest Ranch is a 10,000-acre world class guest ranch, providing extraordinary family vacation experiences and an agricultural/cattle operation. The property includes staff residences, multiple guest cabins, outdoor pavilions, an 18-hole Johnny Miller designed golf course and a wellness lodge. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, kids’ activities, golfing, yoga, massage and challenge course.

West Creek Ranch is a 7,000-acre conference facility hosting guests selected by the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. We have a “50/50 ethos” for our groups, meaning they meet for half a day, and recreate the other half, furthering the work of the group by bringing people together in an informal setting. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, golfing, yoga and challenge course.

Paradise Valley Ranch is an agricultural operation a short drive north. This ranch has a couple of agricultural leases – hay and for cattle. In addition, we host a small number of guided hunts in the fall, at no cost to the hunters.

Auster at Dome Mountain is the newest addition to the AMB West portfolio. This 5,329-acre property includes 4 miles of Yellowstone River frontage. Abundant wildlife highlights the value of conservation and guest experience on the property. AMB West is currently in the concept stages for the property to include hospitality, conservation, wildlife viewing and fishing among other uses.

Position Summary

This is a full-time position which reports to the Director of Finance and will be primarily responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for all associates of AMB West Holding Co., Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, West Creek Ranch, and Auster at Dome Mountain. This position may also be asked to assist with payroll processing for other companies within the organization. This position will require someone with the utmost respect for confidentiality and has a customer-service mindset.

Roles and Responsibilities

Payroll

Review, verify, and audit accuracy of payroll and timekeeping records in Workday for all hourly, salary, and salary non-exempt employees.
Run payroll processes, following documented processing steps which include a detailed audit of the information, and submit payroll.
Submit payroll timely for approximately 50 full time employees and up to 125 seasonal employees.
Ensure all employee charges are uploaded properly and accurately into Workday.
Book the payroll entries to the General Ledger system and complete month-end close procedures for all payroll related items.
Work closely with HR to ensure the organizations HR policies, processes and practices are followed.
Maintain associate payroll records and research any miscellaneous payroll or tax issues in a timely and professional manner.
Year-end payroll processing, including review and corrections of associate W-2’s.
Assist in any payroll related audit responsibilities including Workers Comp audit and 401(k).
Assist the finance team on the annual payroll budget.
Complete standard and ad hoc reporting.

Accounting

General Ledger - Coordination, preparation, documentation of daily transactions; assist with monthly closing entries; intercompany processing and balancing.
Complete monthly reconciliations of all payroll accounts.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and annual budgets.
Collaborate on other projects or duties as needed.
Ad-hoc internal reporting and analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Minimum 4 years of full cycle processing of payroll.

Very good knowledge of Federal and Montana legislation and regulations in the field as it pertains to payroll.
Proficient in MS Office with Intermediate to Advanced Skills in Excel.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of Workday HRIS.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) Certification.
Windows-based accounting system knowledge and demonstrated aptitude for GL systems, and interfaces.
Solid understanding of GAAP.
Strong analytical skills; thrives in a small team environment with moderate supervision; high regard for confidentiality; positive attitude; excellent oral and communication skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; self- starter; high level of attention to detail; and flexibility to work extended hours.
