Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role based in Statesville, NC. The Paralegal will support attorneys in family law and civil litigation by preparing and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence. Responsibilities include conducting legal and factual research, reviewing records and case materials, communicating with clients, maintaining accurate and orderly case files. The role involves managing calendars, tracking deadlines, coordinating with courts and other parties, and assisting with trial preparation. The Paralegal will also communicate with clients in a professional and respectful manner, gathering information, providing case updates as directed by attorneys, and helping ensure efficient case progression.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in legal work required with experience or coursework in family law and civil litigation.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear written communication, professional client interaction, and coordination with court personnel and opposing counsel and their staff.
  • Research abilities, including legal research using online databases and factual research related to case matters.
  • Attention to detail in Document Review, including analyzing records, verifying information, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Paralegal certification (or progress toward certification) preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of certification.
  • Proficiency with legal practice management software, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and respectful, inclusive collaboration with clients and colleagues.
