Paralegal

We are a boutique personal injury law firm based in Queens, New York, seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to work directly with the managing attorney.
This is a hands-on role for a candidate who can step into the position and contribute with minimal ramp-up time, handling substantive legal work with limited supervision.
Position Overview
We are seeking a litigation paralegal with at least 2+ years of law firm experience who can independently manage case-related tasks from intake through trial. Personal injury experience is preferred.
While personal injury experience is strongly preferred, we are open to candidates with solid previous litigation experience in other practice areas who are familiar with the litigation process and can quickly learn and adapt.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of reviewing and working up case files independently.
You will work directly with the managing attorney in a small firm environment and will be expected to take ownership of your work and operate with a high level of accountability.
Responsibilities
• Manage and organize case files from intake through trial
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, demands, and correspondence
• Draft and respond to discovery demands, court orders, and document requests
• Review and analyze case materials and discovery to identify key facts, issues, and missing information
• Obtain and review medical records and supporting documentation
• Prepare and e-file legal documents in compliance with court rules and deadlines
• Maintain case deadlines, progress notes, and overall case organization
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits and case materials
• Follow up on outstanding discovery to ensure timely case progression
• Provide executive administrative support by handling scheduling, phone etiquette, organizing meetings, and supporting overall office organization to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
• Minimum 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm required; personal injury experience preferred
• Plaintiff-side experience preferred (defense experience will be considered)
• Strong writing and communication skills (required)
• Strong ability to review and analyze legal and medical documents (required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer systems (required)
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
• Strong follow-through and ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Spanish language skills are a plus
• Stable and consistent work history preferred
• Must have the ability for proactive time management that ensures a successful outcome for the firm and the clients

Work Environment
• Full-time, in-office position (Queens – Kew Gardens)
• No remote or hybrid work available
• Must be able to commute reliably
This role is best suited for candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and do not require extensive supervision.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 (based on experience)
• Performance-based year-end bonus tied to individual contribution and firm performance
• Paid time off (2 weeks after one year)
• Standard national holidays
