Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role based in Eden Prairie, MN. The Paralegal will support attorneys in a range of practice areas, including local government law, litigation, business law, real estate, and estate planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing and managing case files, and assisting with drafting correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other transactional documents. The role also involves conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing documents, and maintaining accurate records, calendars, and deadlines. The Paralegal will communicate regularly with attorneys, clients, courts, and third parties, and will help ensure efficient case management and timely completion of legal tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation involving municipal and governmental representation
- Draft, proofread, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain litigation files, records, and case management systems
- Coordinate and track discovery, document productions, and deadlines
- Review and summarize records, deposition transcripts, contracts, ordinances, policies, and other legal documents
- Prepare materials for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial
- Conduct legal and factual research related to municipal law and litigation matters
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and public officials
- Schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and court appearances
- Maintain attorney calendars and monitor court deadlines
- Assist with public records requests and document management when needed
- Assist in real estate matters
- Assist in corporate representation
- Drafting estate documents
- Provide office management support
Qualifications
- Prior litigation paralegal experience preferred
- Experience in municipal law, government representation, insurance defense, or civil litigation is a plus
- Transactional, real estate, and estate planning experience is a plus
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience required
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court filing systems
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
