Position Overview:
Packaging engineer with a fast-paced role within the beauty and hair care market. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead the development and design of new packaging concepts while managing existing initiatives.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop consumer-driven packaging designs for new product launches.
- Create mock-up packaging to confirm sizing, graphics placement, and retailer feasibility.
- Analyze the market and consumer trends and apply fundamentals of packaging design – materials, design, cost, and shipping.
- Manage packaging deliverables against timelines.
- Obtain packaging material and labor costs from overseas suppliers and provide information to cross-functional team.
- Utilize packaging software such as ESKO ArtiosCAD, Office 365, CAPE/TOPS, internal data bases, and file sharing.
- Create and provide optimal shipping specifications for product, inner, master, and pallet.
Essential Cross-Functional Responsibilities:
- Provide cross-functional team with project updates and understand key takeaways.
- Work with product development team to obtain product samples and determine method to best display product and product features.
- Collaborate with sourcing team to select optimal supplier based on packaging material, costing, and project timelines.
- Receive and discuss project briefs from marketing/sales teams to initiate the development of a new package design.
Required Skills/ Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of:
- ArtiosCAD
- TOPS/CAPE
- Adobe Illustrator
- Office 365
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Willing to learn new business practices.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, or another related field
