Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is the growth engine of the company’s newly restructured sales model. This is a field-based, hunter role focused entirely on new customer acquisition within an assigned geographic territory.
BDRs will target low-to-medium complexity prospects through high-volume, in-person outreach. This role is ideal for a hungry, coachable sales professional or recent graduate who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
The BDR will sell the company’s full product and service portfolio, including material handling equipment, service contracts, and rental solutions.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development — Primary Focus
- Identify, prospect, and develop new customer relationships across assigned geographic markets
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects using CRM tools
- Close new business and drive immediate revenue growth across all product lines
- Achieve or exceed new customer acquisition targets and activity metrics
Service Contract Selling
- Actively identify and report equipment issues discovered during in-person visits (e.g., battery problems, broken units)
- Present service contract options on the spot and initiate service dispatch when applicable
- Drive meaningful growth in the company’s service contract business as a core KPI
Pipeline & Performance Management
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline in the CRM at all times
- Meet or exceed sales targets, activity metrics, and key performance indicators
- Track and report on prospecting efforts, activity, and revenue performance
Qualifications
Required
- 0–2 years of sales experience, or a recent college graduate with demonstrated sales aptitude
- Willingness and ability to perform literal, high-volume, in-person door-to-door outreach
- Strong work ethic, hunger to succeed, and genuine coachability
- Effective time management and self-discipline for independent, field-based work
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Preferred
- Prior high-volume b2b and/or door-to-door outside sales experience
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling, or industrial equipment
- Experience with CRM systems for pipeline management
- Local market knowledge within the assigned territory
Compensation & Benefits
The company offers a competitive, performance-driven compensation structure designed to reward top performers.
- Base Salary: $65,000
- On-Target Earnings: Year 1: 80-100k > Year 2: 100-150k > Year 3: 200-300k
