What Success Looks Like in This Role

✅ Drive Growth: Proactively build and grow a profitable client base in your assigned territory through cold calling, relationship building, and consultative sales.

✅ Be a Trusted Partner: Engage clients with tailored solutions that meet evolving waste needs, while delivering GFL’s promise of reliability and sustainability.

✅ Own the Sales Process: Prepare proposals, pricing, and service agreements with strategic input from your Facility or General Manager.

✅ Understand the Industry: Master the economics of environmental services — from P&L dynamics to equipment applications — so you can negotiate effectively and build long-term customer value.

✅ Build Your Territory: Identify new market opportunities, penetrate competitive accounts, and consistently expand GFL’s presence across the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients in your region.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts using ACT CRM and other sales tools.
  • Conduct on-site waste stream analyses and recommend cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations that highlight the value of GFL’s services.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure alignment on pricing, contracts, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adapt and outperform.
  • Represent GFL at civic and industry events to boost local brand awareness.
  • Support bid preparation and assist in identifying potential acquisition opportunities.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 2+ years of experience in B2B sales (environmental or industrial sectors a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients and close deals.
  • A proactive, hunter mindset with a passion for growth and customer success.
  • Business acumen to understand margins, pricing strategies, and operational constraints.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
