Position: Order Entry Clerk

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $23.00 /hourly

Location: Modesto, CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Order Entry Clerk to support daily transportation and logistics operations. This position is responsible for accurately entering, reviewing, and processing customer orders while serving as a key communication link between customers, dispatch, drivers, shippers, and consignees. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and is committed to maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout the order fulfillment process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter customer orders, shipping requests, and dispatch information into company systems
  • Verify order details, quantities, shipping information, appointment times, and customer requirements for accuracy
  • Coordinate with dispatch personnel and drivers to support daily shipment schedules and delivery timelines
  • Review and update order statuses, load information, and shipment documentation as needed
  • Monitor incoming emails, phone calls, and customer requests related to order processing and shipment updates
  • Schedule appointments and assist with load tracking and shipment coordination
  • Prepare and maintain dispatch records, reports, and transportation documentation
  • Communicate discrepancies, delays, shortages, or operational concerns to appropriate internal teams
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for orders and dispatch documentation
  • Ensure all order information is complete, accurate, and compliant with customer and company requirements
  • Provide administrative and operational support as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in order entry, dispatch, logistics, transportation, warehouse administration, or customer service preferred
  • Transportation, warehousing, or supply chain experience strongly preferred
  • Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with operations teams

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or dispatch software preferred
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn internal systems quickly

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced transportation and logistics office environment
  • Frequent interaction with customers, drivers, dispatch personnel, and warehouse teams
  • Flexibility may be required during peak shipping and operational periods
