Operations Manager - Warehouse and Packaging Automation

The Operations Manager is a key leadership position overseeing a multi‑shift manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for executing packaging operations safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer demand, production capacity, and available work‑in‑process (WIP).

This organization is a fast‑growing industrial automation and packaging technology company serving the food and beverage sector. It specializes in high‑speed, flexible packaging solutions, including automated and mobile production lines designed to support variety packs and complex SKU configurations. With a national operational footprint and a strong focus on operational efficiency, supply‑chain agility, and technology‑driven execution, the company partners with leading brands to reduce cost, shorten time‑to‑market, and improve end‑to‑end visibility across packaging operations.

This position works closely with the Regional Planning Director to build and execute production schedules and partners with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure smooth daily operations. This is a fully on‑site role (Monday–Friday), responsible for 24/6 operations, with regular engagement across all three shifts and on‑call support during Saturday production for operational escalations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multi‑shift manufacturing/packaging operations (24/6) with full on‑site accountability
  • Own production execution, scheduling, labor planning, and operational performance
  • Ensure safety, quality, regulatory compliance (OSHA, SQF, GMPs) and audit readiness
  • Drive operational and financial KPIs (throughput, uptime, cost per case, margins)
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline teams
  • Coordinate cross‑functionally with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance
  • Ensure on‑time, in‑full delivery while managing materials, WIP, and system traceability

To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi‑shift manufacturing or packaging operations
  • Strong hands‑on leadership with the ability to engage teams across all shifts
  • Solid understanding of production planning, labor management, and cost control
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with audits and compliance standards
  • Data‑driven mindset with a track record of continuous improvement and KPI ownership
  • Comfort working on site with extended availability and escalation responsibility

This is a compelling opportunity for a warehouse and packaging automation expert to join a fast‑growing startup and play a key role in building, optimizing, and scaling its production operations.
