The Site Process/Controls Engineer will report to the Plant Manager and play a critical role in leading the plant's process improvement initiatives. The primary focus will be on enhancing manufacturing productivity by optimizing process efficiencies, increasing capacity, minimizing waste, and enhancing quality standards.
Key processes in this facility encompass industrial roofing urethane and asphalt, as well as adhesive tape. The successful candidate will join a team during a phase of rapid growth, collaborating with diverse team members to drive automation and process improvement projects vital for the business's success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply tools and techniques to enhance overall equipment efficiency
- Strengthen teamwork within operations and across functions
- Lead continuous process improvement activities
- Enhance process control through instrumentation and statistical tools
- Identify and implement automation and packaging enhancements
- Utilize lean techniques to streamline activities
- Utilize financial analysis tools to facilitate plant operations and identify growth opportunities
- Support capital projects of varying complexities
- Develop standardized work procedures
- Assist in safety program implementations and enhancements
Job Requirements:
- BS Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Background in supporting capital projects of at least $100,000
- Experience in executing process development projects
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating and modifying P&ID’s
- Strong statistical analysis skills and financial expertise
- Experience with process measurement, improvement techniques, and process design
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in controls and automation
- Demonstrated leadership in process improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, SWOT
- Ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures
- Skills in modifying/updating Historian & Visualization software tags
- Proficient in troubleshooting online with Process Equipment, PLCs, VFDs, Servos, HMIs, & Network Switches
- Familiarity with ISO certification processes
- Knowledge of Management of Change and PSM programs
- Successful track record in capital projects exceeding $100,000
- Ability to interpret electrical and network diagrams
- SAP proficiency
