Operations Manager

Dizario Search is partnered with a leading chemical manufacturer and they are seeking an Operations Manager to join their team. This role combines operations leadership, engineering oversight, and people management with a strong focus on continuous improvement. We’re looking for a “player-coach” who can run an R&D pilot plant like a high-performing manufacturing operation, drive process improvements, support innovation, and build a high-performing team.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of pilot plant operations, including safety, maintenance, materials management, and production scheduling.
• Lead and develop a team of 15+ employees, including supervisors and technical staff
• Ensure equipment, processes, and materials are prepared and optimized for research, testing, and product development activities
• Drive Lean initiatives to improve operational efficiency, workflow, and continuous improvement across the facility
• Manage the overall facility, including laboratory spaces, equipment, compliance, and day-to-day operational performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, and Executive Leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field preferred
• Experience in pilot plants, Greenfield projects, or chemical manufacturing operations
• Proven track record in capital equipment project execution and at least 5 years of experience in an operational leadership role
• Lean and continuous improvement expertise (5S, SMED, process flow optimization).
• Skilled at implementing structure and processes in developing environments
