Operations Manager-Composite Manufacturing

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations within a composite manufacturing environment. This role reports directly to the General Manager and oversees multiple functional areas, managing a team of department leaders to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on composite manufacturing experience, strong people leadership, and a proven ability to drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across composite manufacturing, including component fabrication, machining, and production support
• Manage and develop approximately 6–8 managers and supervisors
• Drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics
• Oversee composite processes such as layup, cure, panel processing, autoclaves, ovens, and vacuum bagging
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and throughput
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence

MUST HAVES (Non‑Negotiable)

• Operations or Production leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Direct experience with composite manufacturing processes (layup, curing, autoclaves, ovens, vacuum bagging)
• Proven people leadership experience managing multiple supervisors/managers
• Hands-on, floor‑focused leadership style
• Strong operational and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, production-driven environment
